ABOUT ABOUT

GoodCompany is pleased to invite you to the Opening Evening of Climate Ventures 2.0, an innovation engine funded by the William Penn Foundation designed to apply private sector resources, ingenuity and expertise to social entrepreneurs with innovations that can enhance climate adaptation and resilience efforts, particularly to Ag and Water systems.  With partners from the Rockefeller 100 Resilient Cities Network, and the Wharton Social Impact Initiative, we have reframed climate threats to food and water systems as actionable market opportunities for entrepreneurs, identifying the prominent areas of innovation in Flood, Drought and Agriculture, and the degree of VC activity in each.

Over the last year, GoodCompany Ventures has launch a global talent search, partnering with Comcast machineQ and OpenIDEO to scour the globe for the most promising applications of advanced materials, IoT remorse sensing and monitoring technologies, Drones and Robotics, Big Data analytics and climate modeling technologies.  We reviewed over 500 applications from 8 countries with insight and feedback from subject matter experts, policy makers and investors alike.

The companies we will welcome in June are representative of the worlds best present day responses to climate change adaptation.
Over the next 5 months, these companies will undergo intensive acceleration.  As each one moves through our core business modeling work, it will receive customized guidance and feedback from an Industry Advisor Network that includes Google Earth Engine, Campbells Soup, IBM, General Mills, among others; a Capital Coach network with investors active in these spaces, and pilot and policy advisors from the EPA, the Philadelphia Water Department and Rockefeller Foundation.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to bring entrepreneurs to Philadelphia for this important work, and showcase all the talent, resource and expertise this city has to offer.

Please help us give them a warm welcome.

The evening will include a Cleanup with United by Blue at the Lakes at FDR Park from 5-7pm,  RSVP HERE, followed by a catered dinner and remarks at the Ben Franklin Technology Partners campus.

Enter Navy Yard on Broad Street, take left at Intrepid and right on 13th Street to park in lot at Building 100.  Walk around building to patio facing Broad Street and Marine Parade Grounds.
